Tarion

At home in an on demand world

An end-to-end IBM® infrastructure built by Maxium Solutions Inc. (now Skipton Group) gives Tarion Warranty Corporation what it needs to respond to a demanding market

There’s no place like home. For most people buying a new home is the biggest investment they will make; but for Tarion Warranty Corporation, it’s business as usual. The company ensures that builders abide by the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act, and steps in to protect consumers when builders fail to fulfill their warranty obligations. Over the years, Tarion has guaranteed warranty protection for over 1.2 million new homes and paid out over $190 million in claims from its guarantee fund.

Recently Tarion has transformed itself. From improved service standards and streamlined business processes to stakeholder collaboration and increased resiliency, Tarion has dramatically altered the way it does business.

Like a fine tuck-pointing job, the company has been building its on demand capacity brick by brick – thanks to a highly scalable and resilient IT infrastructure designed and deployed by IBM Premier Business Partner Maxium Solutions Inc.

"Home ownership is a big investment for people and the building sector is a leading economic force," explains Bill Wallace, Vice President, Information Technology at Tarion. "When something goes wrong, it hits the press, it hits the government. We can’t afford to be anything less than stellar in service."
